劇情簡介

戰後德國趨向復蘇，漢斯（弗蘭茨·羅戈夫斯基 飾）卻因為同性戀行為，從集中營被直接被轉送到監獄繼續服刑。因為刑法典第175條認定 同性戀是一種罪行 。他對愛與自由的渴望，雖遭到瞭摧毀，但他生命中最深刻一段感情，竟來自他的獄友－殺人犯維多（格奧爾格·弗裡德裡希 飾）。
由於被歸類為「175」，漢斯一到監獄，就遭到維多的鄙視。原本互看不順眼的兩人，因共處一室而逐漸熟識。擅長刺青的維多，主動幫漢斯退去原罪，去除烙在他身上的納粹編碼。而當維多犯錯，漢斯也代他被關禁閉，讓維多心生感激。兩人不僅學會尊重彼此，並且成瞭知己。此時，漢斯在獄中也遇到瞭摯愛奧斯卡（托馬斯·普倫 飾），這份愛於是成瞭他在獄中的唯一慰藉，直到刑滿出獄…
因為無法放棄做自己，漢斯不久又因為同性戀行為再度入獄，高墻與電網成瞭他人生永無止盡的循環。當他與維多在獄中再次相遇時，這兩個頻遭社會遺棄羞辱…
