劇情簡介
不受歡迎的青年尼特朗，壞脾氣的他就像個不定時炸彈，在公眾場合任由行為失控，母親為瞭管教身心俱疲，寵溺的父親會在闖禍後出面收拾殘局，讓尼特朗變本加厲。他沒學可上，成日在街頭遊蕩，社區的孩子總是戲弄嘲笑他，直到遇見年華消逝、古怪卻富有的海倫，他認為自己找到瞭朋友，母親卻覺得這位“新朋友”另有所圖??。
以犯罪電影見長的澳洲導演賈斯汀克佐，再度攜手《血教育》編劇尚恩格蘭特，這回收起形於外的暴虐，用冷靜自持的角度，重新檢視震驚全澳的真實社會事件。畫面雖不見血腥，不言而喻的冷暴力，卻讓恐懼更深入骨髓。茱蒂戴維斯所飾演的母親，表面雖強硬，但面對智力受損而不受控的孩子所產生的愛與恐懼，詮釋層次分明。性格小生卡賴伯蘭裡瓊斯令人不寒而慄的演出，也讓他成功拿下坎城影帝。
