劇情簡介

日本攝影記者芥川（林子祥）三年後重返剛剛解放的越南采訪，遍地的生機令他心生歡喜，但當他無意間走進城市的另一隅結識當地女孩琴娘（馬斯晨）後，方知之前所見不過是越共政府特意為他這樣的外國記者安排的粉飾太平的假像。
在琴娘並非刻意的“導遊”下，越南平民百姓正處於水深火熱中的悲慘生活逐漸被芥川盡收眼底。琴娘一傢人、戰後唯一留下來的某酒吧的老板娘（繆騫人）及她的正想方設法逃離越南的情人祖明（劉德華）等人的被越共任意踐踏的自尊強烈地觸動著芥川敏感善良的心，盡管他並無徹底改變他們命運的能力，卻仍是盡力給予幫助。
