劇情簡介

本（尼古拉斯•凱奇 Nicolas Cage飾 ）一個是貧困潦倒的編劇，終日借酒消愁，被公司開除後，鬱鬱不得志的他變賣瞭所有的傢當，前去拉斯維加斯開始瞭他慢性自殺的計劃。他打算在幾周的時間內，喝酒至死。在光怪陸離的拉斯維加斯，醉醺醺的他遇見瞭妓女莎拉（伊麗莎白•蘇 Elisabeth Shue飾）。莎拉過著同樣不幸的生活：被皮條客控制自由，屢次出逃不遂。本和莎拉共度瞭一夜，這夜他們互相傾訴，同是天涯淪落人。
二人很快同居，但莎拉並不阻止本繼續狂飲。本在自己的世界裡沉溺得越來越深，直到有一天和另一個女人躺在莎拉床上，莎拉怒不可遏，將本趕出傢門。本在酒精的折磨下奄奄一息，他打電話給莎拉，能否讓生命和感情重生。
